How snails got patterned shells

Did you know that snails used to have weird plain brown shells? Well in this story I will tell you how snails got patterned shells. Here’s how it goes…

One winter in new zealand a long time ago. A snail named Slimey slithered over to a small spinach plant. Slimey slithered onto the biggest leaf, he was preparing to eat it when Slimey saw a flash of light. It was bright, very bright. Slimey the snail went into the light and saw…

It was so big! It had big blue water and a rough pale substance. Slimey thought it was sand like the snails who visit occasionally say. Slimey slithered down to the water. Slimey was nearly there when he realized that the spinach had left green spots on his shell, the sand had left yellow spots as well!

Slimey went back to his friends and told them to go over the spinach plant. When they came back they had the same patterns as him!

That is how the snails got patterns on their shells.
