How snails got patterned shells

Did you know that snails used to have weird plain brown shells? Well in this story I will tell you how snails got patterned shells. Here’s how it goes…

One winter in new zealand a long time ago. A snail named Slimey slithered over to a small spinach plant. Slimey slithered onto the biggest leaf, he was preparing to eat it when Slimey saw a flash of light. It was bright, very bright. Slimey the snail went into the light and saw…

It was so big! It had big blue water and a rough pale substance. Slimey thought it was sand like the snails who visit occasionally say. Slimey slithered down to the water. Slimey was nearly there when he realized that the spinach had left green spots on his shell, the sand had left yellow spots as well!

Slimey went back to his friends and told them to go over the spinach plant. When they came back they had the same patterns as him!

That is how the snails got patterns on their shells.

The Elephant And The Crocodile

Ever wonder how we got kapiti island. Well it all started with an elephant named Jeff. One day Jeff the elephant went on a holiday to new Zealand. Jeff stayed away from the people that lived on new Zealand, simply because Jeff didn’t know if they were friendly or not. Jeff typically went to the seaside and looked at the ocean. It looked a dark blue with a white splash occasionally. Suddenly Jeff saw a gigantic green thing that looked strange. Jeff walked into the water. It was ice cold, but Jeff wanted to find out what the green thing was. Jeff was quite far in the water when he saw that the green thing was a massive crocodile! Jeff could not let the people that lived on new Zealand die. So Jeff fought with the crocodile until it surrendered. Jeff saw for the first time how starved the crocodile looked. But even though the crocodile was at death's door Jeff made him promise never to move. So the crocodile had to sit there, after five months the crocodile caught a bad case of the flu and died soon after. four months went by and trees began grow over the dead crocodile. Soon after shrubs and grass began to grow until the crocodile looked more like an island. Jeff the elephant named it kapiti island after shoreline opposite it, the kapiti coast. And that is how we got kapiti island.

Myth

The Elephant And The Sand.

One day a blue elephant named Jeff was going on a walk. Jeff walked down the to the seaside, to look at the endless stretch of green-ish blue water. Jeff walked down to the rocks that never went any further than the shoreline. Jeff walked on oblivious that the rocks he was walking on were getting crushed into tiny little pieces, that we now call sand.

Octopoem

Green and brown like chives and soil.
Cold winter breeze.
On top of the hill it is ice cold.
The overcast day made everything Gray.
Everyone wearing warm clothes.
Leaves littering the ground.
Someone watching an animal documentary.
Someone eating carrot cake.

Question: what the poem is about?
